After years of asking, I was amazed that my wife told me this morning she would come w/ me to the range - she told me when I picked her up at her piano lessons.

I have been asking her for years to come - if not to shoot, then just to watch. She hates guns (she is from China, and things are quite a bit different there).

Anyway, she came w/ me. I took my 1 week old USP 9mm compact, my regular USP 9mm, and my SW99. The regular USP was too large of a grip for her. And, she ended up liking the USP compact the best - I personally shoot my SW99 better than any other gun I have ever shot, but my USP compact is my 2nd fav I think.

She did pretty good. Let her shoot at 15 feet. She grouped pretty well.

Surprised me... Someone was shooting machine guns on the range. 1st time I had seen that. So, I would wait until his bursts were done before I would continue. Pretty loud in the indoor range.

very good!
My wife and I target shoot togeather. We practice in the garage with .177 pellet. At the range, it is a good couple sport provided you both have Peltor Tac active cancellation ear protection and eye protection. We fire .22, .380 ACP, 9mmPara and 357 in the pistol range.

Greetings...

I remember the first time I took my wife to the 'range'....

I had just purchased my first real hunting rifle - a .30-06 winchester mdl 70. We drove out to the desert and picked up a hubcap on the side of the road on the way out.

Getting 'out there' I put the hub-cap about 200 yards out on a hill, and put 11 rounds into it. Not NE anywhere near the center... Respectable, but not gloriously so...

She asked if SHE could try it... Well of course dear! Here you go...

She did all those feminine things - placed the rifle butt right in the center of her chest, you know all those seemingly idiotic things that our females pretend to do that make us feel so superior...

Well.

After three shots - Every one of which took at least 5 minutes - and accompinied by the obligitory OH! That hurt!! It's so loud! I don't know how you can do this!!

I walked out to the Hub cap to see that there was a PERFECT clover leaf 3 shot group dead center in the middle of the hub-cap....

She doesn't fool me anymore... She's a markswoman, and I'm proud she's mine...

My wife would get so mad if I went to the range without her. Her favorite gun is the XD40. She is a awesome shot too. It's nice to have a wife that loves guns almost as much as I do. :-D

Well, that may have been my wife's LAST trip to the range. I am going again next week, and I talked to her about coming yesterday. Now she refuses. :( :(

My wife only likes to shoot the Glock 17, Sig p239 and Walther P22. I offered her anyone one she wants but she wants to buy one that's her. I told her she needs to get the new S&W 500 Mag. She shoots that once and it's mine. Taking her this week to the Gun Store. Here she is at the range today.

Thats awesome bud!!! Just be careful, she'll be out shooting you soon. My wife was around firearms her whole life and started shooting in earnest when we met. All things being equal she out gun me with my Kimber .45, her S&W 9mm, & her Colt Mustang.

I haven't let her try my USP yet..... :p :-D
