That's a possible Google search. Each state , county may vary

Sometimes it all depends on availability.

Good luck, let's know what you find out

For the range, the least expensive that will work in your particular weapon and does not foul up the weapon excessively.......
If you carry for defense, maybe some cheep stuff to zero in and refresh your aim points. But always fire some that you will use for EDC or at least the same bullet weight.
Don't buy Chinese/Norinco. not sure about the gun powder they use and casings are slightly oversized and can jam if you try and load the magazine to capacity.
I get some white box Winchester (loose in box, sold by weight) 9mm and near the end of my range time use some of the carry ammo.
Had good luck with Sellier & bellot (Czech) ammo
I've been using white box ammo for years in my handguns. I recently purchased 1,000 rounds of PPU for my .223 M4 after a positive review from a buddy, and I've had no issues with it.

Not much more to say than that. I avoid the Russian stuff like the plague.

But the answer to this question also demands the knowledge of just what you're trying to do while you're at the range: Target scores, make noise, self defense practice, or dazzle some sweet thing with big muzzle blasts.

But a lot of the purchasing process depends on being at the right place at the right time to catch it on 'manager's close out', having pricing knowledge ahead of time and understanding what works for your gun.
