Whatcha been cookin’?

My wife and I try to share kitchen duties. She still does the majority, simply because she works remote from our home 4 days per week. I like to try new recipes every now and again just to break the routine. I tend to like Asian, and Hispanic dishes, or sometimes more Mediterranean throughout the year, but often go more European and American comfort foods in the fall and winter. This weeks “experiment” was bourbon chicken.

Anyone else cooking up something “different” this week?

Pizza may be next weekend. Never developed a taste for beer.
Eating is my hobby, so I had to learn to cook.

If I could master bread, I'd be a force. :ROFLMAO: I just never felt like devoting the time to it. Hours of waiting to get a friggin loaf of bread or pan of rolls. I have a friend that is a master at it. Well, he's a master at just about all of it. Glad I don't live closer, I wouldn't be able to walk through the door,,,,,,,,,,,,, on the garage.
Maybe after canning is done, as long as things come in enough to can. I recon canning is my new adventure. Dipped my toe into it last year. Things came out but the garden didn't cooperate.

I remember years ago with the ex wife we use to make bread from a bread machine I guess this not really making bread from scratch but I remember it was pretty good

Not exactly “cooking”. Just some pour-over coffee and instant oatmeal for breakfast.

Not for supper, but canned up 6 pints of yellow squash for frying later, and 4 pints pf bread and butter zucchini. So it begins. Hoping for a bounty to store up.

Quick lunch. Spicy ramen with added chicken. Cooked on my trusty Coleman 508.

Ramen deserves SPAM. Really. We love the stuff with fried SPAM and veggies. Add a boiled egg for some added flavor. Quite a meal.

Sheppards pie (lean). There’s a big reason why I don’t make this as often as I’d like. Its a lot of work!
BUT SOOOOOO VERY GOOD!

I do not disagree at all. Fried these little SPAM strips up in some Mirin, Soy sauce and brown sugar. Today though, I was keeping things super simple.

My wife's oatmeal, chocolate chip, raisin cookies. The problem is that she makes them before dinner and we can't stop scarfing them down especially when they're right out of the oven.

For dinner, we had hamburgers made from ground turkey meat (with onions and other seasoning inside). They were very good.

We have those a lot. Butterball makes a great turkey patty with red onion. Pretty sure I like those better than beef any more.
With a beef allergy in the house, I had to really adjust, I thought. It isn't as difficult as one would think, other than they sneak beef products into SOOOOO many items. That is the hard part.

😳 I had no clue that some folks were allergic to beef! Sorry bud, abstaining from even moderate intake of beef has godda be difficult to adjust to.
