It's too bad that they discontinued these old S&W's. They were very popular at one time and used by a lot of law enforcement agencies during the transition from revolvers to semi auto's. I've got four of them. Unlike 1911's parts and magazines are getting to be hard to find.

My first was a S&W "Ladysmith". Being a newbie I found out it was to light and I traded it for a S&W 640 Pro series .

357 in stainless. I will never sell it. It is on my hip 95% of the time.

For years I thought my first handgun was a Ruger Super Single Six bought around 1969-70. But for some reason I had completely forgotten about a Llama .380 I talked my Dad into buying a couple of years earlier. Perhaps it was because the Llama was rife with stovepipes, failures to extract, poor ergonomics, and in general a POS, I blocked it out as I never felt as though it was genuinely mine.

I traded it for a Marlin .22 lever action that has always worked flawlessly.
