H&R 732.....around 1968. Paid $30 for it.
Gave it to my daughter about 12 years ago along with my Mom's S&W snub-nose 38.
March 11th, 1979, my 21st birthday, walked into a local hardware store and bought a Browning Hi-Power, don’t remember the price. Wanted one since seeing it in the movie Serpico

A 4” Colt Python in Royal Blue, mid 70’s. Paid $400 for it brand new. Wish I still had it but I sold it to a colleague in 2005 for some reason that I don’t remember.

Bought a Browning HiPwr through military PX in Bamberg GE in 1970. Traded it for a SW 39-2 in
North Platte NE in 1973. Dumb move..
My Beretta 92FS bought it after my 21st birthday. I had been gifted a coupl other handguns, but this was the first I purchased.

Awesome Beretta :)
It was a Security Six .357 I believe, quickly followed by a Super Single Six and a Super Blackhawk.

Goodness, I had to stop and think about this, I’ve been buying guns for decades, apparently always rifles. My first handgun purchase was my Ruger 22/45 target. Still have it, after what, 15 years, great little gun, perfect for showing beginners the basics of gun handling.

Smith & Wesson model 915. I bought it either the day I got out of the army or the day right before.

I really like third generation Smith & Wesson but that gun in particular was a lemon. I could not hit a horse in the ass with that gun if I was sitting in the saddle. And it wasn't just me everybody that I saw try to fire that gun could not hit what they were shooting at.

I ended up giving it to a friend of mine.

The weird thing is even though that particular gun sucked I sometimes regret having sold it.

Walther PPK in .32 ACP. Terrible. Sold it at a gun show and bought a Colt Trooper .357 Magnum.

When I decided to arm-up to protect the homestead, I Googled a bunch. Lined out some and added others. Went to various local gun stores and held them. Mrs. Tinyman asked me when I would do the deal so answered that I would do it when I went to the last local store (had heard good things about them).

Went with my final list and at the counter, asked the guy behind the case about them. I had eliminated all but two. He asked the right questions and he asked to see my hand -- ok, a little weird but ok. He pulled one out (wasn't even on my list) and said, "try this one on for size".

My first? Glock 19 Gen 4 and it will never leave the stable.
The Beretta M9. Got an airsoft version of it as a kid and bought a real one as an adult.
