I'll be going to Larned Kansas on the 24th of October. I won't really have time to do much other than attend a workshop there. Looks like Larned is about 100 miles from anything. Anyone have any suggestions while I'm there?

No guns get to follow me up there, since I'll be flying, rather than driving, and I don't want to hassle with all of the flight restrictions.

I'm not even sure that I'll bother with Shampoo, shaving cream, aftershave, or toothpaste. So any of you in Kansas may not want to be around me, anyway (grizzly, smelly, bad breath, etc.). But if you do, I'd be happy to try to meet with someone, just to chat and have a meal.

Well, the Larned area is teaming with towns: Zook, Sanford, Pawnee Rock, Radium, Rozel, Heizer. What more could you want?

Larned isn't on my top ten list - to paraphrase Milton Berl, "I spent a week in Larned one night". My sympathies.

I'm 120 miles from there... by secondary and tertiary highway. Otherwise I'd drop by with a box of ammo and a range gun to play with.

Ask around - I'm sure somebody can point you to a fellow shooter if you have a yen.

That sounds mighty inviting. If I had an extra day to spend in Larned I'd look you up and make the drive to your house.

I'd count them but they keep jumping out of my gun safe and running around my house singing "Its A Small World". Wouldn't bother me but they insist on wearing cute little hula skirts and that annoys the wood elves that live in my sock drawer...

Took me a while to get there, but I made it to Kansas, and back.

Larned turns out to be a very nice place, with pleasant weather. They are the home of Kansas' State Hospital. Its where they keep the sex offenders and the criminally insane. I guess that's why it's a two and a half hour drive from any airport.

Fortunately no one took a close look at me, so I was allowed to leave.

I did, however, mention a certain Kansas_Plainsman who thinks he has woodelves in his sock drawer.

They promised to get right on it. :mrgreen:

Not again! We (that is, me and the awgmuffle*) had the most difficult time getting them to leave last time. It must have been the crumpets. This time, they get no crumpets!

*awgmuffle - much like a pindgefert, only a little smaller
