I just picked up a used FNX45 tactical but was used much. But my question is the thread protector, after firing 100 rds through it to and when I got home to clean it. It had loosen up and was wondering what can be done to keep it from loosing up and losing it. Don't want to use thread lock.

I use "O" rings where the thread protector meets the shoulder. I haven't had one come loose yet. You do have to replace them every so often because they do break, bit they are cheap enough to keep replacing.

I just unscrew it before firing the gun. Then screw it back on once your done. You do not by any means want to use thread lock it may be nearly impossible to get it off when you go to field strip and clean the gun.
