Have the 85BB in nickel. Has been a favorite all along. My only complaint is the low capacity. May have to take a look at that 80X. I have always been a DA/SA man. Only in the past few years warmed up to striker guns. And now- thats all I carry.
I'll have to consider that 80X- as that 85 was my carry for a long time.

The reviews of the 80X are all over the map. This review is different than Honest Outlaws.

Getting too old to start another caliber.

Part of me wants this. But, I had the single stack, Beretta 85 several years ago. The blowback with the thinner backstrap just killed that thumb joint in the web of my hand.

My 9mm Shield Plus kicks less than the 85 with the blowback action.

The doublestack backstrap of the 84 and this 80X might be better. But, I'd have to try one before i bought one

Yep- that has become my #1 tote.
Except- I carry with the 10 rd mag in the gun, and a 12 on the side. The reason I carry this is, I can point-shoot 2 to the torso and 1 to the head at 30 yds consistently with this gun. That blew me away. Draw and point-shoot two to the body then aim at the head. If I can shoot this gun that good- then it will be my carry. I tried the x-grip on it, but a tad too long for pocket carry....so back to the 10.
17 round mag?.....might look into that for the 9mm with the x-grip?

But it's still a.380.

The only two 380 pistols I have ever owned were a Ruger LCP and a Llama.

The Llama was a surprisingly good little pistol. The LCP wasn't a bad pistol but it was small enough that it was painful to shoot for both my wife and myself.

JMO but any .380 big enough to mitigate recoil is probably also big enough to be a 9 mm

I agree. I prefer my 9mm Shield Plus. But, the gun is interesting.

I think I've talked about this before but about 10 years ago I decided to consolidate all my handguns down to one caliber.

Ideally, I would have Consolidated down to only two types of magazines but I had three 9 mm handguns already that I would have taken a loss on selling and I already had an adequate number of magazines for them so I wasn't going to spend any more money on them so I went ahead and kept them.

The guns that I have cover all the bases that I need covered and I just can't see branching out into a new caliber or new type of handgun

Well, I did recently get a Glock 42. I wanted something smaller than a 9mm, but better than the trigger on the Ruger LCP I have.

For the size, I do wish the factory mags held more ammo. But, I do have one +2 Taran Tactical extension.

Anyway, I do like the gun, now that I got ammo that works in it. And, it is light. With some medical issues I am dealing with, it will be all I can carry in the next couple of months. I will say the reduced recoil makes it easier to rapid fire the gun too.

I used to be a HUGE Beretta fan. And, this 80x is interesting. But for the price and size, I think I'll stick with the 9mms I have. I'd have to shoot this new Beretta before I'd be willing to buy one. I think it looks kinda cool, though....

As for consolidation - I hear ya. I got rid of all my 45s for that reason, several years ago.

If I wouldn't have gotten away from the .380, I'd buy one.

I think the color of the launch edition is sweet.

I have two, my wife would not let me touch hers, so I bought one for me. My largest 'pocket 380', but that extra size really helps make it a sweet gun. It is smaller than a G-43 for those that think they are the same platform. Similar, but my pocket cannot conceal the 43, it can the 42. My son uses larger pockets and can carry either one. I'm not buying new pants.

A G-42 is a great gun.

I don’t mind having multiple calibers, but only have the Glock 42 in 380. I’ve thought about the G28 which is available here now, but mags are really really hard to find. Plus, I really only pocket carry when I am walking the dog for coyotes, etc. Other than that, a 380 isn’t in the rotation.

I went and took a hard look at the G28 last weekend. If it was a Gen 5 - I'd have probably bought it. But, I didn't like the Gen 3 G26 I had years ago. I hate the finger grooves. So, I don't want a 3rd gen G28.
