Import problems since they were Russian-made. I don't think any have been imported in over a decade (I might be wrong about the time period).

Also, the influx of cheaply made AK-style autoloaders from Turkey and some US companies sufficed for many new buyers. If you notice, many will say they're a Saiga clone (which they are not in material and workmanship).

Saigas are still out there on the secondary market and command higher prices, but not many people who have them wish to part with them.

I also have a Saiga 7.62 x 39 that is excellent.
I have the sp-101 7.62z51

The best defensive shotgun is the one you are most familiar with. The one you can operate, in the dark, under high stress, without killing or injuring bystanders. Which means the one that you have the most practice operating. Yeah, that practice thing again. It isn't the tool that makes the difference, it's the tool operator.

Inside the house the RemArms V-3 TAC 13 with a green laser is my first choice.

I have a 12 gauge Shockwave that lives in a scabbard in my truck.
My other shotguns are a .410 bolt action repeater that my Dad gave me (first gun) when I was 6 or 7 (I can’t remember now, and he’s no longer around to ask), a Winchester 1300 Turkey Gun that I bought almost 40 years ago, a .410 Snake Charmer that was my Mom’s, and an old 12 gauge Browning Auto-5 that was Dad’s.

My primary home defense guns are pistols and an AR pistol.

If I were to want a HD shotgun; I’d probably buy one of the Shockwave-sized semi auto shotguns. The action cycling would negate some of the recoil, and the short length would make it easier to control (and maintain control) inside the confined spaces of being indoors.

Yeah, I bought this, it shows it’s price. Stiff in every way, the magazine release is maddening, the stock 5 round mag takes a huge yank to get out. The Panzer 10 rounders need to be yanked, rocked, yanked, rocked, and yanked some more to get out, I’m sanding seams in the plastic, trying to open up the mag opening, lubeing the snot out of everything, still stiff as hell. The trigger, I thought the safety was on the first time I pulled it, truly a hard pull to get it to break. The installed choke was stuck fast in the barrel, Midway to the rescue with a choke tool. I’m working on this thing, haven’t even shot it yet, don’t even know if it cycles yet.
I thought this would make a good home defense shotgun, but no way yet. It is green, I like green.
