Love it or hate it, he is lookingout for the interests of his country. Is it his interests, or the countries? That we won't know, but it is a better place with him. Not to the standards we think we live, but still.
Just hitting the bio labs that our .gov funded was a get out of jail free card for me. The .gov even admitted to sanctioning the labs that were doing gain of function research/manufacture. That also makes him the 👺in a lot of eyes. Interrupting the cash flow, as it were. Then again, it may have lit the supercharger, who knows. On that thought, we will never know and any story will come with a very high degree of suspicion.
I'm not a fan, but he is seeking safety for his country and maybe trying to get a little back. No way around the fact he's the scapegoat though.
