Always remember laws like the original Income Tax law, the RICO Act, and patriot act and how quickly they have been abused, I always take those into account when they talk about a new law to protect the people.

The topics of politics is allowed again on the forum - provided people behave.
The rule of "no politics" had previously been instituted when there had some fights breaking out.
Interesting that many here share the same beliefs, yet disagreements STILL break out. Please realize that members here CAN disagree and talk and discuss things WITHOUT calling the other person an insulting name. That was starting to be a large problem, even among some regulars here.
That just makes the name caller look like a.... Well, a jerk...
If you just get so upset - walk away from the screen before you start posting insults.
Anyway, please try to keep political topics in their own thread. Sometimes they pop up in totally non related threads - and then the thread gets derailed totally.
Now, if things get out of hand again, we'll have to revisit this.

Past behavior is a good indicator of future behavior. Yes I used the most outragous example but they do it all the time.
I left a gun forum because every time a shooting in a Blue State occurred during a riot and looting session and it was discussed on the forum, a few individuals started yelling "Racist," calling people "Racist," and the moderators refused to do anything about the name calling.
It wasn't even a political discussion. It was a discussion on how to protect yourself from rioters, looters, and murderers - in other words, the use of self-defense.
The moderators were spineless and playing the politically correct card.
I didn't need that type of crap in my life.

I left a forum for similar reasons but kind of the opposite. If you so much as farted upwind of em (I would have gotten a stern warning for saying fart!) you were flagged. After that your posts were picked apart with a fine tooth comb. If you so much as sounded contradictory to what someone else said (no, I’m sorry, but you’re incorrect that Ruger 10/22’s are the most accurate and expensive out there) …..bam! The moderators loved their titles a ”bitch” too much. 🤪 (can I say bitch guys or is that over the top?) I’d never pay $20 a year for premium membership there. Lots and lots of members leave too. High turnover rate!
I love Handgun forums! The moderator team is pretty laid back and tolerant of quite a bit. If there’s a problem (and its rare there is, it usually comes in the form of someone intentionally trying to provoke someone, stirring up the pot into beyond heated discussion. But they’re extremely cool about letting someone know they’re approaching the envelope and in an adult manner.
Get bent out of shape all you want…..be adult about it is all they ask and to me that’s not unreasonable at all.
They‘re definitely more professional about being moderators here; and they don’t lurk about in the shadows. They actively participate in the forums.
I actually thought I knew a lot about firearms, reloading and laws that I’ve accumulated over the last 50 years.
There’s more old dogs here than me willing to exchange a few tricks with others too. I pick up a lot and so do they.

Most of the "laws" that affect Americans on a day to day basis are not laws at all. They are the result of acts and agency; which means bureaucrats [spelling deliberate]. The reason they are not true laws is that they never went through the legislative process. EPA, FDA, DEA, DOE, and a host of other alphabet soup departments reign their control over the populous with all manner of intrusive and outright ridiculous crap.
I went through that 2 times, once with daughter #1 and second with daughter #3. #3 was the worse. Head nurse had my wife doing deep knee bends to get the baby to move into position. That nurse saved my wife from a cesarean. Daughter #2 was no real problem compared to the other 2.Talk about some colorful language, just be around a woman in hard labor. Would make a sailor blush.
My wife went into labor with are youngest April 16th he wasn't born till May 29th 1984. It was the only one of our children I wasn't off working. I was in the delivery room waiting on the doctor but my son would not wait on her, so I caught him coming out and held him till the nurse cut the cord. Then off to infant special care nursery because he was born 11 weeks early. He turns 39 this weekend.
We have two daughters, and that's it. First daughter put my wife in 19 1/2 hours of labor which led to a Caesarian section birth for her and automatically for #2 daughter. Gave me a whole new respect for what women have to go through to deliver children.
Well; at least one of us likes him.As long as our state legislature is run by brain smart, constitutionally focused republicans and Governor, we’re fine. Always have been since I’ve lived here.
For 12 (I think it was 12) years we continuously voted for an old school democrat to represent us in The US senate. He was pro-2A, pro law enforcement…..you name it. We really liked him! He never voted on the party line either. But when something better came a long in the form of a Republican, we said “he did good for us”, but 12 years is enough. He now Runs NASA!
But I am seriously concerned about the great democrat migrations as they flee the schitt holes they helped make for the green pastures of Florida and probably won’t learn from the mistakes and lessons they ran from, only to blindly vote for the same schitt they left behind!
Their presence is keenly felt by observing their driving habits alone! They truly do not care about anyone’s safety but their own! Its frick’n insane how things have gotten worse in the last 3 years! The uptick in crime is also happening all as they move here.
It’s getting to the point where I once before felt comfortable having firepower on my hip (+xtra ammo), I’m now beginning to feel the need to have something more serious with me in my vehicle, like the M&P FPC 9 folder.
I’m already beginning to wonder if even that is going to be serious enough.

Well Nelson was an under-performer, but not too gross about it. The sad part is, nobody worth spit would run against him. That’s what irritated me.Well; at least one of us likes him.

We have a congressman however that is not as strong as I’d like him to be. By that is, he’s not vocal on the floor as I’d like, his voting record is spot on. He’s on a couple powerhouse committees. He does good work but he’s not as regarded as I’d like. At his age he never will be. But he can’t be pushed around either. He’s a senior member that has sat in the shadows, being the hand up Mona Lisa’s skirt (they don’t see him coming).
Hes been in office as long as I can remember and he’s probably as old as Joe now.
I met him twice during Republican election result party’s . The last one he seemed pretty slow though. I think it’s time for new meat.
