Yes, you should go try it again. Unless you have one of the 32 ACP versions, the Cheetah series in 380 has quite a snap. I wish they were locked breech instead of blowback in design.

I looked - the Bersa Firestorm is a variant of the Bersa Thunder.

I used to have a Bersa Thunder. I think it is locked breech, because I had one years ago. I later sold it to my mother. She was 70 at the time, and it was one of the few guns she could pull the slide back on. It did not recoil much, so I don't think it was a blowback design
