One of the big advantages of the snub is the ability to shoot it through a coat or jacket pocket. I did that once to see for myself how it would work...LOL, that was some funny shank! Had an old coat that I sacrificed for the event, but wanted to see if I could actually hit a B-27 target, from about 10-12 feet. Yes, I actually put all five 158 grain .38 Specials in the kill zone of my target, from my coat pocket. My coat was hosed, ha ha ha! Literally was smoking and had embers around the exit "hole", but it worked.

Had that been an actual encounter, I would have had a "bead" on the bad guy, while not even being able to tell I did. Yeah, snubs are still alright in my book.
