Next Sunday at our church they will be honoring all veterans in recognition of July 4th. They usually have the Pledge of Allegiance, play the Service Songs and recognize veterans of each branch of service by branch. Those that can, are asked to wear their uniforms to church that day. I told my pastor the only thing I had that still fit were my dog tags. We have one gentleman, 86 years old, who can still wear his WW II uniform. A meek, softspoken man, with six jumps to his credit as a WW II paratrooper.
Another man enlisted in the Navy and was discharged as Seaman 3rd Class, joined the Air Force and retired as Lieutenant General.
