The high capacity 9mm for a Home defense round is a possibility.
I think in certain situations,, would I grab the high capacity handgun or high capacity carbine.
It could go either way 👍
Good points. That's the reason I'm considering the S&W FPC. While I don't have any S&W pistols, it's not a problem to have different mags for different firearms. My AKs certainly don't use CZ mags and that's never been a problem.

Having a 9mm carbine handy inside or out makes sense to me. While I like the Henry, I don't find it as convenient as the FPC in size.

Or you could just find an old 30-30 for less, and have more horsepower…
Already have my Henry 30-30
but a carbine 41 mag would sure be fun for hogs in the thickets though.

Wait a minute, 5 round magazine? So what will after market or extended Henry magazines cost? The guns a beauty, but looks awful pricey considering the market.
Henry lists 1 x 5-round and 1 x 10-round magazines are including in "free" states.
It can be ordered to accomodate either Glock or Sig magazines as well as the Henry magazines.
2 Things: (1) Do some states still limit hunting to 5 rounds? If so, this is catering to hunteres; (2) this is the first production 9mm carbine that can use Sig's P329 mags.

My tack is to wait until they are sold on the used market. They aren't even in the LGSs in my area so waiting isn't a big deal (for me).

You will likely never see them in most LGSs either. Every LGS that I’ve ever been to that carries Henry only stocks their more commonly demanded items. I’ve never seen a Long Ranger on a shelf.
Don’t hold your breath hoping find or bump into a used one either.

I have found that every firearm that I'm interested comes along at a convenient time. Numerous times have I purchased a new firearm only to find a use one a couple of weeks later. So, if I want a used one, I will wait. No big deal -- certainly not something worth holding my breath about. It'll come when it comes.
I would note that, at this point, Henry has likely not even ramped-up production for this model. The issue with finding firearms is the distributors that supply the LGSs. "It's a supply chain issue."
