Got my new S&W FPC

I saw this at the gun store yesterday. They just got them in yesterday morning.

Managed to snag one :)

Now, I am waiting for the optic I ordered to come in. I watched a Youtube video to show me how t take it apart. It's not too hard, but it's a bit different.

Once I get the optic, I get to shoot it.

I watched a video review last night on Youtube. Guy shot about a 1" group at 50 yards. That's much better than the 2-3" average that the Beretta CX4 shoots. So, I can't wait to try it.

Congratulation, I hope it shoots well for you. I will be waiting for your review... I saw the M&P 5.7 in the case at my local gun shop, now I keep thinking about it. I thought I decided I would pass on it but I don't know. I would be doing the same thing if they had the FPC.

I ordered a Mepro 21 reflex sight last night. So, just waiting for that to arrive.

This will be the 8th one of these I have owned over 10+ years. I have come to the conclusion that it is my favorite optic. I like it better than a red dot.

I got the triangle reticle again... Just use the point for precision shots. And, for fast work - just cover the target with the triangle. No batteries or electronics. It uses fiber optics and tritium. Tritium 1/2 life is 10 years, but I have seen people online claim their Mepro still glowed and was usable at 15 years... But, it will always work in the sun.

I have one on my FDE Beretta CX4 - see the pic:

I got a red dot on one of my CX4s. But nice again, I like the Mepro better. The downside is that it is a bit heavy for an optic. But, I really, really like it. Plus, I don't get that bloom from a red dot with this. It is an amber triangle.

I found an old, old review I typed on the Mepro 21 many years ago. Here it is:

If I didn't have smaller hands, I would have already bought that gun. But it is rather wide, front to back. 2 handed, it works for me. 1 handed grip - it was too much of a stretch...

I also get bloom from red red dots, but not as much from green dots. Thanks for the info. I'll check out the Mepro.

Someone introduced me to this optic around 2012. Guy was super nice. He even shipped me his (I paid shipping), and he let me borrow one for a week. I only knew him on the gun forums. I was super impressed that he was so nice.

Anyway - I believe the triangle is etched into the glass. So, no bloom.

There are several reticle versions. Don't get the bullseye version. It is too big, and covers too much of the target at 100 yards.

This is the official optic of the Israeli military. So, it is well used. They have used it for a long time to. Grab a Gun has the best price. $363 + shipping and tax. But, you have to have them mail you a quote. Otherwise, you see the MSRP on their webpage. I found the price on Gundeals last night.

OH MY GOODNESS, I FRICK’N HATE YOU NOW! 😉
How you you like it so far despite that you haven’t fired it yet?
Hows it feel, do you like the operating procedures ?
Come on, hurry it up while I’m young!

This gun is awesome. It's been years since I have been this excited for something new. If the gun shoots like I hope it will, I may sell one CX4 and buy a 2nd one. We'll see.

The gun feels lighter than it is, because all of the weight is closer to your body. The front end of the gun is very light. Because of that, it makes it feel much lighter than the CX4 does (CX4 has more weight towards the front end of the gun).

I ordered a couple more 17 round mags for it. I don't have any M&Ps - other than 3 Shield Pluses. So, I want at least 6 mags for the gun. Since I like to shoot from the bench, I ordered the 17 rounders (instead of longer mags) so it doesn't cause a problem when I use my sandbags.

I am really impressed with the gun, and I can't wait for my optic to ship so I can try it out.

We almost always get to handle weapons before we buy, not at all knowing how well they shoot.
Brand reputation gives us reasonable expectations of what we can expect when we get to the range.
My father taught me that if it feels good to you it’s most likely going to shoot good for you.

Considering its a S&W and this well detailed initial review (which has me green with envy) I fully expect that you’re going to shoot so well that its gonna get plain boring, so try to screw up once in awhile.

I don’t know if your range or club has an action area, but this would just be a blast there!
Thanks for the preliminary review (I’m gonna save some funds up based on that alone).
I certainly know it’s gonna be turning heads. (NO YOU CANT HOLD MY WEAPON! 😉)

I certainly look forward to the next review once you get the site tweeked and start having fun!

Yea, I am waiting for my optic to ship. If they ship it tomorrow, maybe I will get to go next weekend. We shall see.

I just went and dug up my laser bore sighter, so I will be ready when my Mepro 21 arrives :)

I saw a good tip yesterday regarding the need to use two fingers to pull back the bolt on the FPC.

Pull the bolt back, lock in place, and leave it for a couple of days. That will make the spring less difficult to compress and make the pullback doable with one finger.

It worked for the fellow demonstrating it.

I dunno, I don’t think he will …..I may be wrong, I’m getting the feeling that he doesn’t like you very much.
(my attempt at guilting Shipwreck. Hope it works 🤪 good luck)
