In rural middle Tennessee, when some one was sick and at Death's door, neighbors would bring in food for the family and offer some sentiment or words of encouragement. Often times, if the patient appeared to be about to depart this world, the minister would be present.

One old gentleman came in with his wife, left some food and started to leave without his having said a word. The preacher asked him about this.

"I don't care if he do die. He warn't no good no way." was his response.
