45 Wildey Magnum vs 44 Automag 180-D

I had gained interest in both of those pistols due to their design and reputation, and I'm curious to whether or not they're worth buying. What I'm curious with are;

Which is better in terms of reliability, and fun factor. Are they safe to use? How often do they jam?

I'm somewhat planning on getting both but I'm trying to decide which one I should get first.

I've never owned or fired either and rarely see either one for sale. I believe that they once went out of business but they are making them again? I'm sure that they're both safe to use especially at the price that they are selling for. I'm just guessing that not too many people on this forum have had any experience with them either? You may be the first person that brought them up?

If it were me I'd get the 44 Automag 180-D first if only because in my opinion it's a better looking gun and was made famous by Clint Eastwood in his "Sudden Impact" movie. Whether they're reliable or jam I couldn't tell you. There's plenty of information on YouTube regarding both. 44 automag 180-d 45 Wildey Magnum
One of my hunting friends had the Wildey .475. Very fun to shoot but pricey.

So there weren't any huge issues with jamming?

I wouldn't have either due to the ammo scarcity. Currently, we have the 45 in the shop where I work up for sale, with some ammo as well. The size of the rounds are impressive, to say the least.

Well I am aware of their ammunition scarcity. But that's not really my concern.

Understood. Just pointing that out in case other members are interested, but they probably all know it.
Hello johnygreen1992, so you're talking about roughly 10 grand for both Pistol's. I wanted a 44 magnum powered semiautomatic pistol but I settled for a Glock 21 modified 40 super. It's just under 44 magnum power but I'm happy with it. It cost about a 5th of what you're planning to spend, good luck.

Well after a long research I decided to not bother with it. Like all Glocks this thing's design is offputting.

As far as the Wildey and the automag, I wonder if it were not for Clint Eastwood and Charles Bronson If I would have ever heard of them?

Yeah. Not to mention that both of those guns were also featured in the Resident Evil games.
