A Dallas salvage yard owner fatally shoots a burglar. It's the second time in 3-weeks that he's had to shoot a burglar. A Fox4 reporter catches up with him in a parking lot and badgers him with questions like "Are you a trigger happy person?" and "Is that what you want to do... kill people?"
What the heck?

A Ledbetter-area business owner fatally shot a suspected burglar Sunday morning – the second time in three weeks that he killed an intruder, Dallas police said.
James Walton, owner of Able Walton Machine & Welding in the 2000 block of Chalk Hill Road in West Dallas, was alerted to the intruder when his motion sensor system activated about 9 a.m. Sunday, police said.
Mr. Walton, who also lives at his business, went downstairs with a shotgun and fired at a man who had broken in. The intruder was later identified by police as Jimmy Gannon of Ferris.
Police said Mr. Walton also noticed another man outside Sunday. Mr. Walton shot and wounded that man. He escaped, but a witness eventually led police to him. The man, whom police did not immediately identify, was questioned by officers Sunday afternoon.
Mr. Gannon, 37, was taken to Methodist Dallas Medical Center, where he died.
Police said Mr. Walton is allowed to protect his property. No charges were filed against him Sunday, though the case will be referred to a grand jury, police said.
"He's got a right to defend his property. What gives a stranger the right to go in and vandalize or burglarize his business?" said Dallas police Sgt. Gene Reyes. "He's within every legal right to do this."
Mr. Walton could not be reached for comment Sunday.
Dallas police Sgt. Andrew Harvey said he doesn't believe anything was stolen from Mr. Walton's business on Sunday.
On Sept. 22, Mr. Walton shot and killed a man he saw climbing through a pried-open window of his business, police said. The intruder was later identified as Raul Laureles. That incident also was referred to a grand jury.

your average reporter will always act like this.its been going on since before nellie bly.
unfortunately, there aren't too many around now days like H. L. Mencken
at least the police seem to be on his side.
So first, the guy gets burglarized 40 + times, then he shoots 3 criminals, killing 2, and then he's stalked by an idiot reporter while he runs errands and goes shopping.
The idiot reporter thinks the story is the poor old guy buying another shotgun to defend himself with. Or as she implies, so the trigger happy murderer can claim some more innocent victims. Was it just me, or was everyone else wondering why the idiot reporter didn't mention the criminal records of the perps?
The poor guy ran out of shotguns. The police confiscated the two used in the two self defense shootings. What's wrong with him buying another for self defense? Sounds like to me if anyone needs a shotgun for self defense, it's him. I guess the idiot reporter was trying to broadcast the innocent victims face on television so that the family and cohorts of the criminals would easily recognize him in public.
The idiot reporter was trying to blind side a 70 year old man by sticking a camera and microphone in his face while he was unprepared, had his guard down, and was running errands.
The guy's 70 years old and just wants to be left alone. What's wrong with that? Who's worse, the criminals who prey on their victims, or the idiot reporters who blame the victims and try to make them the bad guy?
Shame on you Rebecca Aguilar. You are what is wrong with America.
I watched it, and it did piss me off.
if i had the money to spare i would buy this man a 12g. mossberg special purpose 8+1 shotgun w/heatsheild....if he didnt have the money for one himself![]()
hmmmmm i hope everybody that was in the rifle vs shotgun for home defense thread takes note of what kind of firearm these BGs were dispatched with.
He already bought a new shotgun. I hope Rebecca Aguilar finds a new line of work. She's definitely not a reporter.
Video will not play....
They probably took it down. I know of at least two local area message boards that have threads about it. Everyone has been emailing and Rebecca Aguilar and Fox4 about it. They also have a voicemail comment line. I'm sure that's been flooded too.
I sent an email to that hateful little biatch. Badgered that old guy until he cried.
I hope they kick her @$$ off the planet or back under that rock she crawled out from under.
Even though Fox4 took the video off their website, it has been immortalized on YouTube.

Walton: I'm not satisfied about the situation right now....
Aguilar: About killing two people?
Walton:... about you coming out here. About killing two people? Hell no. That's not good. I haven't done anything like that in my whole life. Even when I was in the Army I was never exposed to that.
Aguilar: Are you a trigger happy kind of person? Is that what you want to do... shoot... to kill?
Walton: I haven't shot anyone in 45 years.
Ugh!!!
Good news: KDFW suspends Rebecca Aguilar...

I wrote them and told them if they ever let her back that I will never watch their news again and will tell their advertisers. I know a couple streets I'd like to send her down without a gun. Did you see the guy who robbed that poor old man? Now the press what's to jail our seniors for protecting them selfs and why are the police taking his guns away. This is Texas not New Orleans.
I bet he's not burglerized again though.
Aguilar speaks up.

What most viewers remember is Aguilar asking him, "Are you a trigger happy kind of person? Is that what you wanted to do -- shoot to kill?""I don't know if I'll survive without a blemish," she says. "Every time you Google my name now it's like 'Aguilar, suspension or ambush.' Before it was 'Aguilar, award-winner.' It's changed in a week."
I am glad she is gone from Fox 4![]()
She was fired permanently on March 3, 2008.
