I have seen that. I did mine over the internet and they were pretty quick getting me the paperwork.
After I sent it back in with everything completed it was another 30 days.
Definitely worth the wait!

how much did they charge you to do it over the internet Jimmy?
The folks who did the CHL training provided all of the forms for us. We arrived early in the morning, had our photos and fingerprints made, filled out the paperwork with their supervision, and then sat in class for the rest of the day.
When we left, all we had to do was wait for the instructor's certification, then mail the whole packet into the state.
We (my wife and I) got our CHL's about 60 days later.
Talk to the people doing the training. If they don't provide the paperwork, ask around for someone who does.
It's worth it to pay a little extra when they provide a package deal.

Can you download the forms from the TDPS website?
Stormbringerr,
It's been a while. I think it was the total application fee, but when you recieved your paperwork they had already done the initial investigation. After you did your range, fingerprints and such, it was supose to speed things along.
You can go to Texas Online and follow the links to the DPS site.
I guess that's why it only took about 30 days after I sent paperwork back. But definitely go to a range that does fingerprints, photo and all. The only difference is you will already have your paperwork and a DPS #.
