    Updates on XDS Recall Status

    Can we get an update on how the refits are going for the XDS recall? Mine has been down there awhile.

    Sorry to hear about your XDs CHmajor
    I had originally posted about my recall and return via FedEx few months back. So here is my update:

    I received mine Monday 11-25, after nearly 3 months. I had shipped it in bubble wrap and cardboard box. I received it in a nice little hard plastic carry case and they included a 7 round extended mag. I was impressed with that.

    After a quick cleaning due to the nasty grime all over it, I went to the range Tues. 200 rounds and not a whimper! last two mags the slide didn't lock back, however that was due to firing support handed and weak wrists.

    Purpose of recall was trigger safety something or another. trigger reset seemed a little long but that could have been due to lack of use recently. Oh and playing around with a Sig P6 which has a heavy da/sa but nice short reset.

    Asked range manager about any other XDs that have come in and he said same thing about trigger reset with other customers. Springfield has been excellent with the emails, customer service and voluntary recall in my opinion. Turn around time would be the only hiccup but due to massive amounts of guns that needed repair it was not entirely unacceptable.

    I do know however the recall will turn people off with buying the XDs. Will there be several used ones for sale? IDK? I plan on keeping mine

    When did you mail yours out Scorpion8?

    My last email from Springfield stated something to the effect that is was taking a little longer for the XDs mailed out later in the month of Sept

    I got the same notes, but they all keep saying "if we got yours before such-n-such a date, we'll have it back before Thanksgiving". Well they had mine before such date, and it's past Thanksgiving. I just hoped the Springfield rep would post some insider news on how it's going, not enough people, parts delays or whatever. I'm okay with them taking extra time, I just like to be informed. (Kinda like when you sit on an airplane on the runway apron for 45 minutes w/o moving and the pilots or flight attendants won't tell you what's going on and why you're not moving).

    XD-S*™ Recall Update 12/13/2013

    Dear Springfield Customer,

    We are pleased to report that the delayed parts shipment has arrived, and the schedule provided in our last update remains accurate. We are happy to be upgrading pistols at full capacity, once again!

    We are currently working on XD-S™ pistols received on Sept. 13 - 17, 2013. Those pistols will be upgraded and shipped back to their owners by Christmas.
    •All XD-S™ pistols received between Sept. 18-23, 2013, will be upgraded and shipped back to their owners by Dec. 31, 2013.
    •All XD-S™ pistols received between Sept. 24-30, 2013, will be upgraded and shipped back to their owners by Jan. 8, 2014.
    •All XD-S™ pistols received between Oct. 1 - Nov. 18, 2013 will be upgraded and shipped back to their owners by Jan. 31, 2014.
    •All XD-S™ pistols received between Nov. 19 – Dec. 6, 2013 will be upgraded and shipped back to their owners in early Feb. 2014.
