Greetings All,
Due to current local crime wave, my GF is itching to get her CC permit and start toting. Though a revolver is simpler, I am leaning towards an auto with less kick.
She has shot my sig 229 & .380, and Glock 27. I prefer the last due to its bang for size. She loves the .380.
Watching "24" has piqued my interest in H&K.
What are your favorite high end purse/ waistband autos?

these are just a few that i have tried and liked. the sig and h&k both come in 40s&w and 357sig also. more boom. there are other good choices out there too. the biggest thing is that you let her try them and make her own choice, don't choose for her.

Delighted to hear the Walther is a viable option- I've only shot an old ppk and it was lousy

She liked the poly Kahrs as well. Check out the CW9 and PM9. The new Walther PPS would be a great choice. I'm thinking of getting one for the wifey, so I can get my Glock back.
The Bersa CC380 is a slightly smaller version of the Thunder 380. Your GF will most likely be able to handle one without any problems.
For purse carry however, it would be hard to beat a shrouded-hammer .38 snubbie. You can even fire them from within the purse.

My wife carries a Glock 26 in a Galco holster handbag. Not being a woman, I defer to her judgment on what is best for her.
My wife carries a 4" 1911 in 45 ACP.

PhilR- we'll check out those Kahrs. This weekend she was leaning towards a glock, though she doesn't like shooting my 27 at the tv.
I'm thinking 9 over 40 with the contenders being the following:
Walther p99- though the trigger pull might be a little long
Kahrs
Sig 239, 232
Glocks
H&K

Since you mention "toting" a weapon, you can cross off the P99. It is too big for a female to easily conceal. However, the P99C, which is the compact version, might be fine. Even better might be the new Walther PPS, which is a slim single-stack 9mm.
You might look at the compact versions of the XD line from Springfield, and the M&P compacts from S&W. Personally though, I prefer the baby Glocks. Hard to beat 11 rounds in an utterly reliable package that will fit into the same box that a snubbie comes in. Then again, I think the only reason why I have a Glock 26 is because I couldn't find a P99C.
The Kahr CW9 and PM9 will be the easiest to conceal of your listed models. I still salivate when I see a PM9 in the dealer's showcase....
