Confiscated Glock, and a birthday present

Hello all,

For a while now, my wife has been referring to my Glock 26 as "our" Glock. After going to the range this morning, she is now saying that it is "her" Glock (not to worry -- I still have visitation rights). She knows that recently I've been looking at the HK P7's, and this evening she hands me a small but unusually heavy box and says "Happy Birthday!". Below is what she purchased for me. It is the first firearm she has ever purchased.

As I'm typing this, she is in the other room practicing with the cocking lever. She's not getting this one however, especially since she is getting pretty good with the G26 anyway.

Well Mr PhilP you got yourself a real angel in your wife. It's not to often you find a lady that buys good pistols too. Good luck with both.

She is goning to be mad when she finds out you have the better pistol and you will lose it also. congrads on getting to hold and shoot her newest pistol.

Congrats! Welcome to the "cult"! You will absolutely love the P7. I got one several months back and wondered why I waited so long. Now you need some good leather!

must be nice, my wife would rather i sell them all. i would probably faint is she bought me one.........or even ammo for the ones i have!

p.s. anyone know where i can find a P7? they aren't in manufacture anymore are they?

HK is still manufacturing them and sending them to the US but they are doing it in a way so you will think that the importation will end any day now..........so hurry up and buy one (they say) . There has just recently been a lot of used P7 PSPs come on the market from Europe. They are good guns (major difference is mag release on heel of grip instead of by trigger guard) and are about 1/2 the price of a new P7M8. Good luck. :smt033

Go to thefiringline.com and look up "WildAlaska." That's Ken, and he manages Wild West Guns. Last I heard he had a whole boatload of P7s. Tell him Mike from Galco sent ya. (He'll have no idea who I am! :mrgreen:)

Mike's right. WildAlaska has several different grades of the PSP and appears they are priced right. He's a little off-the-wall but is good to deal with and is honest. He has ads in both those websites I gave you. CDNN also has some of the PSPs.

That is correct. However, you can still purchase new P7M8's, which is the newer version that has a few different features. New M8's run about $1.2k to $1.5k.

Most of the ads for P7's (aka "PSP") are for police turn-in's that are re-manufactured by HK. They come in three cosmetic grades: A, B, and C. A's will run $7-800, B's around $6-700, and C's around $550-$600. Warning -- I've seen great variances in the appearance of pistols in all three grades, and I can't help but wonder if some dealers are "upgrading" their pistols in order to get more money. The very first P7's I ever saw were B's, and they looked horrible. I thought for sure that I would never purchase one, as I would never spend that amount of money on something that looked that bad. The C that we looked at, and that my lovely wife went back to purchase later that day, was much better than the B's I'd seen before, and very close to the B currently at the other local dealer. The B at the other dealer wasn't worth the extra $155, especially since it had just one magazine (mags run a minimum of $35).

If you are going to purchase one from a mail-order dealer, use one that is recommended on the HK forums.

good to know. thanks again. i usually won't buy a gun unless i can hold it and inspect it first, though i might bend the rules if enough trusted folk recomend the dealer.

Ken is a little odd and occasionally a bit abrasive, but a very honest and upright guy. Galco does a lot of business with Wild West Guns.

PhilR, You are one lucky man to have a Missus like her. btw Does she have an unatached sister who might like a 60 year old fat guy? lol

Yep, you got a good one....gun AND wife!

After noticing I had extra money in my "sock" fund....my wife said to me..."Honey, why don't you buy that new pistol you have been wanting?"
