I live in Montana and have a life long friend who lives in California. He wants to buy a handgun that I have owned for the last 30 years.
Question,
How do I ship it to him? Do I just stick it in a box and send it? FedEx, UPS, USPS?

No. If you get caught doing that you will be facing Federal charges from the boys at the ATF office. You have to ship through a FFL holder to another FFL holder on his end. You better check the laws in your state and in his state. Around here it will run about $25.00 each way.

If you have a local gunstore nearby, just tell them what you want to do and they can help, because as stated, you need to ship it legal, FFL dealer to another FFL dealer.
