Soldier from Wichita Falls, TX

Hey everyone,
I thought id stop by here and tell everyone about myself. My name is Spc. Marshall, Im in the Army, ive been in for 3 years, i was stationed in Baumholder Germany for 2 years, then i pcsed to Ft. Benning and im now in 3rd Brigade 3ID, and i love it. Im currently deployed to Camp Rustamiya, Iraq. It was formerly known as camp muleskinner and camp cuervo. My base is in baghdad, and we get mortared and rocketed alot, but it rarely hits anything. I am an 11b (infantryman) and i am currently putting in my packet for Operational Detachment Delta, or delta force. Im still just getting started with my packet, but i think i have a pretty descent chance of at least going to the selection. Well, thats all about me for now, wish me luck!

Welcome and greetings from the "other" theater. Same deal here, we get rocketed and mortared, but the hajis can't shoot worth a damn.

Hey everyone,
i just wanted to say thanks for all the positive support. This forum is pretty cool. I talked to my company commander today and he is going to help me with my delta application. Hes been around the sf world before. He thinks i should go to special forces first then try for delta. He still supports me in whatever i want to do. Im still going to try for delta first, but im not closing any doors at this time... I just want to do all the crazy army stuff while im still young. This is my second deployment, and were gunna be here till june 08. The long deployments are getting tiring. I have heard that sf only deploys for short deployments. That would be nice, but ive also heard that its balls to the wall from the time u deploy to the time u get back.. But im ready for it, i need a new challenge in my life! Im gunna go for now, some of my squad is going to have a tx hold em tourney so i gotta go get ready for that... Ill talk to yall later!
