CCW Texas status

Anyone know if there is a way to check the status of your CCW application in Texas? I sent mine in 8 weeks ago.

Yes, but I think you need to contact them and get a PIN number first. The relevant URL is:

Somewhere on there you can look to see the status of your application. You can call them, too - I've read that the lady is very helpful but often busy. Contact information at the bottom right side of the page.

If U have a PIN # they give U - U can go to www.texasonline.com and check on it.

I am renewing mine, and I already had a pin #.

I just registered my mom, and she is waiting for her packet. SO, I don't know if they give U a pin # w/o asking for it.

Everything is different this time. U pay online now, and update stuff online. Maybe they give U a pin # w/ your paperwork now. Don't know...

I just completed my class and was told that there is currently a 16-20 week wait on CHL's. Apparently a bunch of Texans have applied for their CHL lately.

From what I understand, there has been a large influx of new applications from Harris County (Houston) and the DFW area. Something about a post-Katrina crime wave there. I'm glad that Austin only got 5000 of those refugees.

A year and a half later, some of the folks who were evacuated have gone back and some will never return. Unfortunately, I suspect that a lot of NOLA residents who were criminals and parolees have stayed because they hope that police and our parole system don't know who they are.

I just got a pin number in the mail today to check my status online. All it said was processing
