When I clean my pistols, I apply Hoppes #9 to soften up the residue. Then I scrub it all with a toothbrush. A lot of it drips or falls into the cracks and area that I can't reach with a Q-tip. I don't want to leave that all there because then all I did was move the residue from one area to another. I prefer to rinse it all out before it dries and hardens again. I've used WD-40, Brake Parts Cleaner, Carburetor Cleaner and Simple Green.
What do you use, if any?
If I want to clean all the nooks and crannys out I use kerosene and brushes. Then I blow it dry with air hose. Relube it and store it. Been doing it for years and I have never had a rust problem. The kerosene will not harm your polymere guns either.
When I want to get every little nitche Ifirst use dental picks, then Remmington action cleaner, the commpressed air then Rusty Duck lube.
I use air too... but instead of walkin out to the shop & firing up the compressor ... I use my wifes canned air she uses to clean her computer key board ... it's called Dust off. I don't think she has figured out why it goes so fast :smt017...yet.
How much you gonna pay for us keeping quiet?

Don't forget pipe cleaners. They're cheap and can be bought in different lengths. Compressed air is the best after everything loosens up......just be sure you have some way to drain the moisture from the tank or put a filter on it. The "Dust Off" stuff Rustycompass referred to sounds like a really good idea. Just my WFO (worthless ..... ......). :rolleyes:
