I had the chance to shoot one of these at the range today, the guy next to me had one. When I first picked this thing up, it felt like a toy(aesthetically, it's pretty ugly also). The safety is just above the trigger and is an ambi one. The slide stop is in the usual spot and the take down lever looks similar to an XD(I didn't check this out to closely though). The trigger is a bit stiff, but crisp(it will only get better with wear). The reset is wonderfully short with a positive click. Accuraccy was very impressive, at 15 yards with ten shots in the black on the first go. Recoil....... what recoil? Hardly any, big muzzle flash though. I feel confident that I could hit long distance targets with this puppy. The owner said that it came with 3 twenty round mags. All in all..... I think that I'm hooked, I need to pick me up one, it's pure fun to shoot.
If the gun wasn't in the $800 region, I would have bought one by now...
Good point on the price... if it was in the $500 region it would be a steal.
Sounds like a great target pistol. You guys wouldn't use it as a personal defense gun... would you? The 5.7x28 is really interesting, but I can't see it as having much stopping power, almost makes me think of...wait...oh yeah the .223. I love the AR-15 as long as it is chambered in 6.8x43:smt067
I want a PS90 - and, if the SHTF, I would use it for self defense with a 50 round mag :rolleyes: :mrgreen: :smt067
Well I believe I am at least a "high average" shooter and if someone can live thru me getting him with 2 or 3 (out of a 30 rd mag) 5.56 mm from my AR I will never FxxK with him again:mrgreen: :mrgreen: .Quote:

The 5.7x28 has taken down a human with one shot out of the pistol, so if SHTF and you needed a weapon, the ps90 with its longer barrel than the the FiveseveN would be the perfect short range weapon.IMHO I would not hesitate to grab either one if a situation arose.
Over on the 5.7 forum, Some guys had fired this round through a ham with a bone. It shattered two inches of the bone. I have one of these pistols. It will be replacing my Kimber SS TLE II as my main carry gun.
Only reason I carry one is that I can't easily conceal it at work, so I carry a pm9 wich is easily concealed. But my fiveseven sits in my nightstand drawer and my sbr ps90 is always near by.
I'm not the biggest fan of lightweight .224 caliber supersonic rounds. I'm aware of what the M885 can do... under optimal conditions. Don't think that the average commercial stuff fragments like that. You also have to consider how much energy is lost by such a light bullet at 300 meters and how that hinders said performance at that range. Not that it's incapable of killing. It's just not some wonder round.
That being said, my favorite load of the 5.56 is 25gr of H335 behind a 62gr M885 bullet(I got a bunch of them cheap) and my favorite platform for launching said load is a 20" A2-type AR. The AR15 is a fun platform. Accurate and low recoil. I actually like the AR-15 system. If I had the extra money I'd most certainly consider an AR-10.
The SS195 is not designed to fragment, its designed to yaw, and it does a very good job of doing it according to the gel photos. 200 meters also is about the maximum range for a ps90, anything further than that and I would use a rifle and not a tiny gun like the ps90.
When not shooting junk surplus I like to keep my AR's loaded with 75gr hornady tap, or 55gr winchester ballistic tips.
