Frustrating..

I'm fairly new to the world of handguns, but I'm well on my way to becoming addicted. I purchased my first handgun (CZ P-01) this past spring. I recently decided that I'd like to add handgun to my "arsenal". The problem is..FINDING another handgun. Due to the recent circumstances, the selection of available guns in my area is slim to none. Magazines are next to impossible to find. Heck even ammo is becoming a chore to locate. Browsing online...OUT OF STOCK seems more the norm than not.

While this situation has allowed for me to spend extra money for needed range time, it would be nice to spend an afternoon shopping for a new gun and knowing that I could actually BUY one at that time. Looking forward, I don't see any reason for things to improve in this regard, and if anything they will likely get worst. While I don't pretend to be the most patient person in the world...this is getting ridiculous. There has to be others finding these current times frustrating as well. Sorry for the rant...I just had to vent.

You need to be more specific in regards to what kind of handgun you'd like. Another semi-auto, or a revolver this time?

You leaning towards any specific caliber or feature in a handgun? Double-stack or single-stack in a semi? Six shot or seven shot in a S&W revolver? Blue or SS?

So many questions......so little information. :watching:

I guess you're missing my point...What I'd specifically like is to be able to go into the 2 fairly large gun shops in my area and see a wide variety of handguns that are actually in stock... All kind of brands...semi's and revolvers....all types of calibers...Blue or SS...Maybe even be able to choose from more than 1 brand of 9 mm ammo that's going for 17.00 a box. That's MY idea of shopping for a new gun..actually seeing and handling what is currently being manufactured what should be reasonably available....YMMV in other parts of the county, but where I am the cupboards are close to bare...

OK, so tell the government that you don't like the panic they've caused.
Once this panic ends, your dream may come true...or, you may have to move to Switzerland.

Sounds as if you've been snoozing. This is about the worst time in recent history, to want to buy a new gun, have plenty of choices and options, and hope for a fair price. :anim_lol:

I have written my congressman and senator in regards to this..It's amazing the other side seems to think all this is being caused fear mongering on "our" side. I signed up for yodeling lessons just in case.

I guess you missed my point....again...I'm well aware of the circumstances of this time and the results of it... Sorry that my timeline for purchasing another gun didn't entail looking into the future like it should have. My rant was titled "Frustrated" which is my feeling of the current gun purchasing situation in my area. Just a statement of the facts and how I feel about them. It was not "Why aren't there more guns for me to buy?" Nor was it me expecting things to different than they actually are...But I'm sure this won't be clear to you either.

Okay.....so you're frustrated.

I'm sure that you're the only one.

BTW.......writing letters can be very therapeutic. Be sure to keep us apprised. :watching:

I'm with OP

This is crazy, it makes me wonder if they are doing all this too make people go crazy and buy up all the guns and ammo. It would be nice to go back 6 months from now when you could get anything you wanted

To be totally honest, even though I did own a Nickel plated Colt Python, it's supposed superior action was kind of wasted on me. I shot some S&W revolvers that I had just as well. I had a S&W model 686 w/6" bbl. I was just as accurate with the S&W, as I was with the Python.

Side by side comparison, I'd still take the S&W over the Colt. I'm sure that a lot of Colt lovers are gonna flame me for all this talk, but so be it. Then again, I've never been a big fan of the Colt 1911. :rolleyes:
