Desert Eagle .50 cal
Just wondering if there are any other owners here. I own a new XIX, standard matte finish, standard barrel. I fire factory Hornady 300gr regularly, mainly because of price.
I experienced a feed issue with it, but it turned out to be the magazine - when I switched mags it fed flawlessly with no further problems. I've since disassembled and cleaned the mag, and will try it my next time out.
What I fail to understand is these posts I see all over the internet about how unmanageable this gun is, how it hurts their hands, how they get brass in the head, how it flies everywhere because of recoil (we've all seen the Youtube video of the usual dimwits getting hit with the thing after they fire it).
I fire mine one-handed regularly, as I do with all my handguns - I believe I should be comfortable shooting one-handed with either my left or my right (although it doesn't feel like someone else is shooting when I use my left ) because you might not always have a perfect chance to take the time to shoot with perfect form in an emergency.
I have no issues handling this firearm or firing it accurately. I am a big guy, but my gf is small and slim (if I say skinny she'll kick my ass) and she fires it also without issue.
Good technique will always defeat "fearsome" recoil.
But, just to be sure, try shooting the beast without any gloves.
I envy you the snow.
We have freezing temperatures, but absolutely no precipitation in sight.
I agree. She wanted to wear gloves. I never do. I hate even wearing my winter parka when I'm out at the range.
Geez it's +10 Celsius right now up here. What the heck is up with that weather?
