Do I need two?

I have been looking for a gun for sometime now and after much research decided on the S&W 9mm Shield. The problem as many of you know is that the 9mm Shield is just about impossible to get unless you pay top dollar on an auction site. Not wanting to wait or pay $600+ for the Shield i decided on the next best thing the S&W9C and after renting it over the holiday break and putting 300rnds through it, I really like it.

Today I just happen to stop in my local gun store looking for the 17rnd magazines for the 9C the owner kinda laughed at me saying no he has none and has no idea when he will get any. He tells me he's lucky to get these few guns in to sell...jokingly i said you don't happen to have a shield in there do you? Much to my surprise he did....

So now I have the 9C and the Shield 9mm. Do I really need the two? Which one do I keep? My main reason for owning is to carry for my business as well as home defense. Nice to have the larger capacity of the 9C but one can not over look the Shield and how well it fits in the hand for such a compact gun....

I know I know tough problem to have....Maybe the 9C will be my home/range gun and the shield my everyday carry....best of both worlds?

Do you NEED two? I don't have a clue. As for me, I have more than one, never know when something might break or whatever. Two is good, three is better, four, well you get the idea.

Man I have 4 firearms at my current place (more at my folks) and I still don't think I have enough

You really can't have too many firearms.

thats a good 2 gun plan I want a sheild I have a ruger sr9c and I love it but for summer carry its not going to be the easiest to hide but I like my sr9c for target shooting and carry

Why in the world would you sell one of them now that you have them both? Makes no sense to me.

Keep them.If you carry money in the business you are more likely to get a confrontation from those that pay attention.If something does actually happen your gun is going into evidence after testing,and some places make you jump through hoops to get it back after it's over-you have backup.

After purchasing my second gun the problem I had was deciding what my third gun was going to be.

Never enough.

You need as many as you think you do. I am at the point where I need gun safe number 5. I'm considering just bricking in part of my basement and adding a safe door.

what are you going to do if your door gets kicked in while you're cleaning your gun?

At the present time. I own eight 9mm pistols with plans to purchase at least 3 or 4 more. No such thing as to many!

Have you ever considered broadening your horizons? With a .40 possibly?

The reason I ask is that I own a Beretta PX4 Storm, just recently purchased in 9mm however I'm thinking about getting another man cannon. At first I considered another 9mm, but now I'm thinking, why dont I broaden my horizons and get a .40. More fun at the range!!!!

A earlier post stated my thought on this question.
It said that you never know when 1 may break. That is the reason that I have 2 of the same model in 380. If 1 breaks then, after practicing with each, the other pistol can be used. The magazine interchangeability is something I see as a useful feature of this choice.

Can't you just go buy another one? I like variety.

Already own a Sig .45 and a ruger .357 revolver. Had a .40 but am just not a big fan.
