Just another new guy.

Hi, new to the site. Live in New Jersey, been here all my life. Recently got my Firearms ID and handgun permit. Besides 4 years I spent in the Marine Corps I have not found the need to own or fire a handgun. I fired many rounds through a Colt 45 and a Beretta 9MM as the Marines were making the transition from one to the other while I was in.
Long story short is, My 14 Year old son has shown an interest in learning about and firing guns. Now I know all about the short attention span of teenagers so, I signed us up for lessons and some range time with an NRA certified instructor and the boy was completely jacked up about firing the instructor's handguns (it brought back some good memories of my own as well).
So, here I am on your forum, going to do some searches and ask plenty of questions. I have 90 days to make my first purchase and I hope to get to talk to some of you in that period. Thanks for having me.
