Does anyone have an opinion?

Do you feel the Sig and the H&K guns are equal in quality? I feel the two are of equal build quality but have different ideas about
how to design and approach the layout of the controls. Anyone else feel this way or do you feel one is better than the other.
I personally like a H&K but it just does not feel good in my hand. Same for the Glock guns. Good guns but again they feel odd in my
hands. I am not trying to have a "My gun is better than yours" kind of thing but more of a "quality" conversation. I believe if it hits
where you aim and you have done your part than that is a good gun if it is reliable.

I've never had any trouble with any HK, Sig, or Glock I've ever owned so it would be hard to say that one was better than the other (for me). That said, I did like the grip design on the Sigs more than the HKs and Glocks (but still not that much difference). But that doesn't make them "better". As far as reputation on quality, it generally lines up as HK, Sig, & Glock (first to last and still debatable on the order). But that's not a fair line-up. Try them all and see which one you like and shoot the best. Certainly don't buy one based on what I or anyone else on the internet likes. Remember, internet opinions are only hearsay, opinons, lies, boasts, bullshit, etc., etc. :mrgreen:

Thanks for this, I agree with the idea of try and see what works for you. I am of the opinion that the Sig and H&K were equal but I have never owned a H&K so that may not be a fair appraisal. I know there are people on this forum that have owned both and have shot both so I certainly am not in any position to be definitive.

my son is in the army and he bought himself a sig 226
my only thoughts on the sig are...
that it actually beat out the beretta 92fs in 1985 but
sig's maintenance costs were higher so beretta won the military contract

Sig and HK might as well be the same company to me, they both make outstanding firearms of extreme high quality. That of which you definitly pay for...

Had a HK USPc in 9 and honestly wasn't the most comfortable thing to shoot, SIGs feel amazing in the hand.

I own both and give the nod to Sig for ergonomics, customer service is excellent as well, quality might have a slight edge to HK....

They are both good guns but I'd give the quality nod to HK,mainly because the hardcore Sig guys have been saying the American versions are lacking compared to the originals.I've only shot Sigs,never owned above a 380,but they are nice.I prefer the 1911 design so I have an HK but I have the big USP45T,while it is big I like it.The compacts and 9 feel like a whole different gun to me.The HK45 and P series are all different feeling so you may want to fondle the whole lineup to see which is better feelingHKs are pretty soft shooters,the fullsize USP45s especially so with the recoil spring/rod design,it shoots very soft.One thing HKs don't like is wimpy ammo though,so you may have to respring it for target loads or Remington bulk and MagTech ammo.Either way,you'll have a high quality gun whichever way you go.

I have owned, carried and shot all three. They are all top tier guns. I feel the Glock is the better value and has better aftermarket support.

It's true though, you can almost buy 2 glocks for the price you get a sig or an hk, and 90.99999% chance they will BOTH be equal reliability

I have handled both. They feel like quality pieces. Both have a shortage of leather. The HK is lots worse in that department.

H&K, more specifically the USP ilk(cold hammer forged barrel) are the most durable pistols made in my opinion. If you consider that a quality aspect H&K wins hands down.

After your comment I checked and it seems to be greatly improved over the situation two years ago. A friend wanted to buy an HK, but we could not find a single holster molded for his HK in a lefty rig.

The HK forum had a list of alternative weapon holsters that had a "good fit" for the HK, but the situation was not very good.

I did not check to see the availability of lefty holsters for either--but certainly it will not be as good as you see for Glocks, or Berettas, or Colts or S & Ws.

But I agree, that for right handed shooter at least, you should be able to find suitable leather.
