Oh, I want some cheap FUN!!!!

Ok, what I really need hear is a very sensitive touch. I want a .22 semi that has a little bit of a kick, enough to reach the senses. I'm thinking maybe the Bersa .22 with the 3.5 barrel that weighs 18 ounces. However, I like the looks of the Beretta Neos long barrel with its accuracy. Call me cheap, but budgets have to be met. I would love to shoot them all, but I know they all wouldn't satisfy what I am looking for in a fun gun to shoot. What do you all think? Is a smaller better to give you a little kick or is accuracy give the better high? I have a Ruger convertible now, but don't get much of a high from it. Don't get me wrong it is a beautiful piece, it just doesn't engage the senses. Hopefully, a semi auto .22 will.

Try a Ruger Mk III, priced ok and will hold up for many many years. The tear down for cleaning will seem a pain in the ass, but with a couple of cleanings will become easy and no big deal. Another is the browning and there are others.

Love my Ruger SR22. MSRP is $399 but mine was priced around $320. I saw them on sale for 2 something this weekend. Shop around. Tear down for cleaning is easy and the size is similar to the SR9c. Similar, not exact. Don't have an SR9c so I cant compare to the recoil factor.

I bought the SR22 to help lose my flinch with the 92FS and that has helped greatly. Putting a full mag inside 8 inches at 10 yds now. Havent been doing this long so I am impressing myself. Maybe only myself but I have to start somewhere.:smt038 My problem out further is not seeing the center of target. Need a bigger black dot for these old eyes.

The Bersa Thunder 22 is an awesome shooter and you would be impressed by how accurate it can be.

I have both the SR9c and the SR22. Both are very similar and super fun to shoot.

you have a ruger convertible - try some CCI 22WMR to get some kick from recoil - and the 22WMR rounds are more accurate out of the R convertible than the 22LR

the lighter the gun the more recoil
how about the beretta 21 bobcat at 11.5 oz. - lots of fun but it is not a long range gun

I sesond the Ruger SR22. It lets you know you are shooting a real gun. Accurate, too.

If you are a Glock fan take a look at an ISSC M22.
Wife had one and has had no issues with it.

Thank you for your response. I have always considered the SR 22, but it is soooo small. I have a hard time thinking it would give much of a kick. Ruger is incredible if you can appreciate the way they make their guns. Very heavy, beautifully sculpered, but sometimes cumbersome. I too have a SR9 and really can't say anything bad about the pistol. But it is a 9mm. and has a substantial kick to it. You have probably named the ideal practice vehicle for what I really need, the SR 22.

I also like the Ruger SR22. I love all my Ruger SR's SR9, SR9c, SR40, SR40c.

SR22p is perfect for the range, i gave $309.00 for one and bought 5 extra mags from the Ruger store. It is accurate and runs flawlessly on any 22 LR ammo, after 8 months of use it has never failed to fire or jammed, it and the SP101-22 always go along when i go to the range, they are a lot of fun for a vary low cost.

+1 for the Bersa Thunder 22. I love mine. It is fun to shoot, reliable and accurate. I have numerous 22 pistols but I would say it is the most fun to shoot.
