Hello everyone - Elaine here. I am new to the forum and to firearms. I've been getting a lot of great help and advice so far from the members of this community and I'm very thankful.
I saw this section of the forum and thought I would share my experience and target photos.
Just a little background : I had never been to a gun range before a few days ago and never fired a pistol beyond what was necessary for my pistol license (about 10 rounds). My instructor brought with him:
22LR (Ruger MK3)
9mm (Glock 17)
38 Spl Revolver (S&W 686)
45ACP (1911)
... and I tried all of them. The 1911 was too difficult for me by the end - I was really fatigued.
He said I did surprising well for my first time and given how anxious I was. I was shooting 25 feet.
The range was kind of ... intimidating. I've never been to one before but I don't imagine I'd ever go there alone :) It seemed really old school and was quite scary but everyone was friendly.
It was Wolfs Range in Connecticut (Wolf Range)
I hope to purchase some kind of .22 as my first firearm so I can continue to practice and the range and get more comfortable before moving up.
