So I bought my first hand gun on saturday. I got a Smith and Wesson m&p 9mm. Problem is I'm a leftie. I've been looking for an actual left handed holster. Most say "left or right" or just left handed. Problem is they aren't really left handed. The gun would sit backwards and be useless to me. Does anyone know where I could find a left handed drop leg holster and belt holster? Preferably one that's less than $50.
Most reputable manufacturers have good left handed versions of their holsters. You say they aren't really left handed. Makes me think you may be looking at cheap nylon "one size fits all" lower end holsters. If so, I agree, they don't work well. Brands like Galco, Don Hume, Desantis, Aker, Bianchi, Safariland, and many others have great holsters in your price range that have dedicated and functional left handed models.
It has never held me back. Also, just curious, why a drop leg holster?
You would be correct on the cheap holster. I could go much higher than $100 easily I just believe that the cheap ones would work just as well. As far as the drop leg they are more comfortable while in a car or on my motorcycle. The other part is that I have the tendency to rest my forearm or hand on the butt of the gun if its on my hip. That sometimes makes regular people and police nervous so I figure a drop leg would eliminate the problem.

As far as holster cost, all of the brands I mentioned have good entry level holsters starting at approx. $50 bucks. Hope this helps you.
