Holster Question

I recently bought a Glock 19 and purchased a holster at the same time. I got a Safari 6378 ALS holster. I put the gun in the holster when I got it but got the packaging back out today to change from the paddle to the belt attachment and it says it is for a Glock 17 or 22. I checked the website and they do appear to have a different number for a Glock 19 holster.

It seems to fit fine but the gun comes out real easy after pushing the ALS locking mechanism and, from what I can tell on the internet, it should be pretty tight at least upon first use.

Do I need to take the holster back and get them to exchange for a different one or is it ok that I got this model as long as it seems to fit ok?

It's up to you if you want to exchange it or not. Basically, it's the same exact holster as the one for the G19, but it's a little bit longer. So, if you had the same holster for the G19, it would simply be a little shorter. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply. Would the extra length make it fit the gun any different or does it work pretty much the same and fit the same (with the exception of the extra length?

if it fits, it fits! If the extra length don't bother you go with what you got. However, it's not the holster for your 19. And since this is a precision sport it would really bother me. I purchessed a Blackhawk CQC for my Sig P228 got the holster home and reliazed that they had sold me a P226 holster. Back it went! I did get the right holster and it was a little sloppy imo, so i called them and they sent me a new larger rail piece for the holster. Life is once again good! I'm probabally a little weird about looks and fit, after all we do spend a big chunk of change on our guns. So after all is said and done the only person who has to be happy with it is you.

I have always subscribed to the notion that if a holster fits many different handguns it most likely doesn't fit any on them well. If you want the best performance get a holster that is made for your handgun specifically. I have a Glock 19 as my EDC and use a Hanks Gunleather IWB holster. Very affordable and is exceptionally comfortable.

The length doesn't make a difference in fitment. The frame width and other measurements of the firearm are the same with exception to the length.
