How to post new threads??

I can't seen to find the post new thread button on the active topics screen.I'm new,does that have anything to do with that?

looks like you just posted a new thread..... but to post a new thread you must open a topic area, then post to that topic, then your post becomes an active thread

The "active topics" and "what's new" screens are not forums, they are search results pulled from all the different forum areas.
