I forget where they are made - aren't they Canadian?
Anyway, I hear mixed stuff - good stuff lately, a fair amount of complaints not too long ago.
I kinda am starting to like them myself recently. But, I always wonder if it would be a crap shoot on the quality, kinda like Kimber can be for some people...
I think I would like to get a hi-cap Para someday. All steel and built like a tank. Like Shipwreck, I think they are pretty good but some give folks trouble. One think I do like is they have a fully supported barrel which besides just giving a lot of strength, it allows you to easily make a .45 into a .45 Super (if you're looking to push the power level up on a .45) by just getting a stiffer spring. They have some potential. If I could only win the lottery just once, I'd give you guys a review on a lot of these guns.
And.......you can also make a .40 into a 10mm by reaming the chamber and beefing up the spring. Ahhh...........16+ rds. of 10mm. Wow!
I have a P16-40 Limited which has been excellent for me.
As said, some people have had big problems with them and hate them.
My P16 is easy to shoot well, and I really like it. I've had no problems of any kind with it.
How's the accuracy? Is it easy to get back on target? Should be as it's probably a heavy gun.
Yes, it's both accurate and quick to get back on target.
It's one of my easiest guns to shoot well.
I'm not really into their hi cap guns, but they have a black model for sale at the local Academy Sports - single stack and skeletonized trigger - looks pretty sweet :)
Get it, Shipwreck. It's only money! I hear no real complaints about the single stacks. Only stuff I've really heard was an occassional failure to feed on the hi-caps and that's probably related to the double stack hi-caps.
ONLY money, huh :p
Tell that to my wife.
Actually, I have 5 guns now - will be getting that Beretta I won on Sat very soon. And, I'll have a Keltec 32 in the next 2 months. So, that will make 7.
I am still saving, but I think it will be next year before I buy something.
I may get another 1911 then - not sure yet. Probably will - because I always have the urge calling again. But, I'm gonna wait a while. I enjoy the cheapness of the 9mm.
I debated about whether I should sell the Beretta before I shoot it or not - and use the cash for something else. But, I never win anything - and it is a nice gun. So, I am gonna keep it. Actually, all day Sat, when I was HOPING I would win, I ran all those decisions thru my mind, and then decided to just keep it if I won. So, my mind is already made up.
If I do get another 1911 - while I have had several springfields, I was not impressed w/ the TRP I last had - no more springfields. Kimber's base stainless w/ the night sights is a good gun for the $. But, maybe I'll try a Para this time...
Be more than happy to tell her for ya'. Tell her to call me. :smt082 :smt082 :smt082 :smt082 :smt082 :smt082 :smt082 :smt082 :smt082Quote:

STI is more than I wanna spend - I bought a $1200 TRP last year - never was super fond of it, and then it had the refinish screwup.
I won't pay that much for another 1911 again - not when I shoot just as well w/ my SW99. So, if I get one, $700 is probably tops...
I had a P-10 think steel fram warthog. Was a...... Well factory rebuilt and worked most of time after that. I traded for a S&W 44 mag and used difference as down on a 44 mag lever gun. Also had a problem of rusting and didn't care for fit in hand. No more Para's In fact I just buy good used Colts 1911's now. I think they should keep them in Canada
