Nope, do that all the time. I just rotate through the clips maybe twice a year.
Some now say it isn't necessary, but in the past, most people would load 1 less in the mag, if it's just a gun that stays loaded around the home.
That is what I do - 15 round magazine - I just keep 14 in it.
There's been a lot of discussion about this all over the internet forums. I believe the consensus now is that leaving the mag loaded will not damage or "set" the spring. The flexing of the spring during use is actually harder on it than leaving a mag loaded for long periods of time.
You won't hurt your mags by leaving them loaded....
Years ago...........we had mags that NEVER got unloaded. Didn't seem to have any effect. And I'm talkin' about mabye 5 years or more!
i have never had a problem with mag springs in good mags.
