Sorry for another, but I didn't want to read ALL the other P9 threads.
I'm considering getting a P9. My friend has one and he really thinks alot of it. I haven't been able to shoot his yet and probably won't anytime soon. From what I gather, the general consensus is really good on this weapon. I recently got my CCDW and now need to get an appropriate HG.
Opinions please. And, I got quoted a price of $359 locally, does that sound pretty good?

I would never pay 359 for a KT anything. For another 50 bucks you can get a very good handgun. KT is a inexpensive gun that has a following of loyal owners and most people think they are pretty reliable.
I would never own a Kel Tec again. I had a bad experiance with one and have the means to buy weapons made to tight tolerances that do not hurt my hand to shoot. I have heard it said KT's go bang everytime you pull the trigger, which in my case was not true. That being said, I also would rather see you protected carrying a Kel Tec the not protected at all.
In my area the Taurus 709 is $369 and a Kahr CW9 is $419. If you feel KT is the way to go then get the P9. If you want a great gun that is fun to shoot and that is made with percision, that you can shoot 100 rounds through without having to ice your hand, save up a few more bucks and look a little more.
I know I know KT's are great gun.....I know I know the always go bang.....I know I know ugly doesn't matter, I know iI know light thin grip (like cheese grater).
I am not saying don't buy a KT I am saying it isn't worth $359. I am saying for 50 or 60 bucks more then that there are a lot of 9mm choices that I would get.

I would probably risk $359 for a PF-9, if I was even marginally compatible with it's trigger reach. I know quite a few folks that like Keltecs, but I've never owned one or even fired one.
I have owned a similarly sized Kahr PM-9, and it is a great pistol, but the very short trigger reach chews up the knuckle on my trigger finger.
I have a PF-9 and it shoots everytime . . . . . . . However, It was an interesting journey to get it there. It was my first Semi and I wouldn't trade it now as it is dependable and a really good EDC. That being said I agree with others, spend a few bucks more for say, a SR9c from Ruger and you'll actually save some money and grief!
I've had my PF9 for nearly 2 years now, IIRC. [recently saw a new one for $249.] It is a great carry piece, but no fun to shoot. Probably not a good choice for a new shooter.
However, the P11 is a very good option and much easier to shoot.
The advantage of the 12 oz, 7+1, ultra-thin PF9 is all in its concealability.
It is definately a specialized tool & will give you a sore hand in a hurry.
If you want something you can take to the range, for some fun, you may like the Taurus 709 Thin or the Kahr CW9, etc. [$359-$389]

I went ahead and got the PF-9. I shot 150 rds thru it the last 2 days and only had 1 stovepipe after probably 140 rds. Very accurate and not at all hard to shoot. Very pleased with it.
My hand is not at all hurting. I also shot about 50 rds from my Polish P-64 and 25 from my Sig 239.
Field stripping was easy until I went to put back together, then I had a little head scratchin to do. Once I figured it out, I took it back apart and did it again. Reckon I got it now.
So far I'm pleased. This is not a weapon I plan to target shoot with but carry in my pocket for self defence.
I forgot to mention that the sites were less than stellar. Both front and rear were painted white and not bright at all. I ended up using some chartruese site paint and really brightened it up.
I also got it new for 259 bucks plus tax. Not bad.
