I really like the FNP9 and I have a question for those that own one. I heard from a review the decocker is very sensitive and when shooting your thumb can engage it. Is this true? I have small/medium size hands so I'm not sure if it would pertain to me. Thanks.

A lot of experienced 1911 SA shooters will put their shooting thumb on top of the safety of a 1911 SA. Doing the same on a FNP will possibly decock the FNP when shot.Quote:

The only problem I ever had was transitions from shooting my Hi power where I ride my thumb on the safety while I shoot. My thumb sees the little lever on the FNP and says "oh boy there is my nice seat to sit down on." Now that I've taught my thumb the difference between a safety and a decocker we haven't had any more issues.
Seriously though, just don't shoot with a high thumb.
Never happens.
My wife and I have fired thousands of rounds through her FNP-9. Never had a de-cocker issue. Never had any issue whatsoever. Sounds like internet BS has struck again.
The FNP and FNX are good-to-go.:smt1099
