I wanted to hard chrome my slide and i had a few questions for the pros. Will this effect the reliability of my kt? Can I send it to kel tec to have it done? Also what would be the cost of doing so.? This is my first gun and i want to make it "mine" so to say and customize it the way I like it. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
Hard chrome will not affect reliability. Call KT and see if they will do it. Its been some time since I had a pistol hard chromed, so I'm not current on pricing. Personally, I like the satin finish over the polished look. My PF9 is blue and if a hard chromed one was available I would have bought it instead - only because I like the two-tone look.
thank you i sure will. I just want my kt to look different from most also what do you think about the nitesights i see advertised on the site.
The Nightsighters are great! They glow nice and bright in the dark and are a nice clean looking white dot in the light. For $10, you can't beat them.
i have the night siters on mine. agree with the above post. I have them on.. 3? handguns.
Sounds to me like you can't lose with the nitesighters for only $10. Thanks for the input guys. :mrgreen:
I polished the slide to a mirror shine on my S&W Sigma. I used wet sand 800, 1200, 1500, 2000, 2500 then polish. It wasn't very hard and came out great. Took about 4 hours. I'm not sure if it would work on the KT, may be call them.
KT has and will sell you a polished/chrome slide. When i called about my PF9 they said it would be around $125.00 for the new slide.
