P3AT 1st time at the range report

Just bought my P3AT on Saturday and took it to the range today to "break it in". Fired 50 rounds of el cheapo hollow point ammo called Aquila through it because that was all I could find through 4 Walmarts and the shooting range. Where the hell is all the ammo being stored at???

Well, I love this little engine that could. I only got 1 stovepipe through 50 rounds but chalked it up to cheap ammo and besides that it ran smooth as can be. Great control and not the recoil that I was expecting. Easily controllable. I picked this up on Saturday and after everything walked out the door for $250. A good deal if you ask me. I will be going to the range again once I find some damn ammo somewhere and will report again.

When I am not fielding my Glock 23, this little engine will be right in my pocket everytime.

Where did you find a deal like that? I've been trying to find one of these and can't find one. When I do (online), they are too overpriced for my taste. Good luck with it!

I too just picked up one of these. I love it. I stripped it down cleaned it and shot 30 rds. first time out. I did not have any problems shooting ball ammo. I found mine at a local shop $269 new.
Great little gun and excellent for front pocket carry.

That's what they were going for here, before the election. None of my local shops have them, and they're too overpriced online. I wish I could find one locally for that price. :smt076

$249 incl shipping and only $15 for FFL transfer. Used Privi 380 (serbian) and pistol fired perfectly everytime. I took time to take apart and examine all for burrs or inconsistencies and then cleaned parts and lubed (use some bearing grease(very little) on slides). Am getting some Militec 1 as my newly found lube product and anxious to see if it is as good as I perceive it to be. Also racked and fired snap caps many times just to "dry run" the pistol (always use snaps for dry fire). All in all perfection in a little gun made me feel good about purchase. Got the mag extension and the Hogue little grip for mouse guns and customized for my feel good fit. Got the Mkes Holster for $9 and it is nicely made and sits welll in pocket, although I will probably never carry out and about since I have the opinion that i will get in more trouble with than without. I will have it around the house or in pocket near house or nearby as a small reminder that I can do something better than a rock around my home environs if I cannot reach the "big guns" in time.

Jean and I have had a P3AT in the safe for quite a long time, and today was our very first firing session with it.
To be completely honest, when we first bought it, I gave it a good interior deburr-and-polish job, took the sharp edges and point off of the trigger, and polished the heck out of its feed ramp. I also added the appropriate A-Grip, to cover those annoyingly sharp points on the grip's sides.
To continue being completely honest, Jean learned to shoot with one of my full-size M1911A1s, but has switched to a S&W Bodyguard snubbie revolver for carry purposes. (She's too small to be able to conceal a full-size 1911. Better, we think, would be for the 1911 to conceal her.) She shoots accurately with the snubbie, but she hates it. It doesn't fit her hand particularly well.
I loaded two P3AT magazines-full of RN, and one up the spout, and began at seven yards. All 13 rounds fed and fired flawlessly, and all 13 bullets hit exactly where I was pointing. I pulled a few slightly off-course due to my large finger's very uncomfortable interface with the P3AT's small, too-curved trigger, but I knew which ones were my fault, and they certainly did go where I'd been pointing at the time.
So I gave the little thing to Jean. "It's cute," she said. Thirteen more rounds later, and she was in love. She was also hitting center-of-mass, and without a glitch. The P3AT fits her tiny hand perfectly, and its curvy trigger is just the right size and shape for her thin finger.
The P3AT is now hers. She'll continue to use her .38 Special snubbie, just to keep her skill up and to continue to test holsters for future magazine articles, but the P3AT is now her carry piece.
We are duly impressed with the high practical quality of this little plastic pistol. It does everything it's supposed to, and it does it dependably, without a hiccup or a bobble. Nice work, Kel-Tec!

I just put one on hold for me today. I like the idea of being able to carry the little devil no matter what I'm wearing. It ain't pretty and the sights are a joke but who cares? Point and shoot is fine with me. Better than a pocket knife and weighs the same.

I purchased the p3at at my local shop here in missouri for $250 . I have shot a box of the Aguila shells thru it. Didnt have a problem. But they were the only shells i could find anywhere. The 4 Wally worlds i have checked almost every other day dont have any 380 shells. I did love the size of this 380. Little enough to put in my front pocket. Kel-tec does have a belt clip that they claim to be universal. But I did find out,. without some grinding work to the belt clip to round it off,.it only fits well with the clip being placed on the right hand side of the gun.
