What is the difference between a Springfield 1911 Ultra Compact and a Kimber Stainless Ultra Carry II ?
Both appear to have the same design. The only signifigant difference I can see is the Kimber does not have an ambidex. safety.

They both are a compact 1911. It will depend on who you talk to. Both sides have fans that can show a million reasons to get the one they like. I've shot them both and like the Springfield a little better. I am not a Kimber fan though. I just like the way the Springer feels more. I shoot a Springer a little better too.
Like DJ said, you will get people on both sides of this. I have owned both and I still have my Kimber. In fact, I went out and got a second Kimber. They are just so smooth and accurate.
Oh and some of the Kimber photos I just want to drool over!!!!!:smt023
The only 3" Springfielda that I ever owned wwere the Micro-Compact and the V-10. In Kimbers I own the Ultra Carry I and II. To me it seems that the Springfield Micro has more muzzle flip. I am right handed, thumb rides the safety and weak hand thumb is along held along the slide.
