just got back from the lgs and held an fnp-45
this gun is not too big or fat
i am 5'8" so pretty average and it felt absolutely fantastic just like a 1911
it felt better than the xd45
i am left handed and boy oh boy that is definitely on my short list when the $$ are saved up.
IMHO it is "THE" polymer frame 45 to have
Interesting...I haven't held one since I haven't seen any around. I'll have to get my hands on one when I see it. I've heard a lot of good things. :smt023

I purchased a new FNP-40 a few weeks ago. So far very pleased. Haven't put a lot of rounds through it yet but is a good shooting gun. Came with three 14rd clips and a choice of grip spacers. Another great thing is the slide bar is replaceable. So far this is the best bang for the buck I have found in a while.

I bought the 45 early part of this year. Shot 1000 rds and had not had any problems (different ammo manufacturers). I would say it's a keeper and that's just what I did. It now resides in my safe.
I bought one of the FNP45's a few months back. Absolutely love it. My old 1911 hates it because it doesn't get fired much anymore. It feeds everything I give it from cast to Hollow Points. I like the 15 round mags also. With one in the grip and two on the hip I get 45 rounds of the big 45ACP. Nothing wrong with that. I was surprised how well the handgun fit me also. I wondered about the big magazine, but FN did a great job putting that many rounds into as compact a platform as they did. The chamber is fully supported, so no Kaboom. FN isn't an American company, but the FNP45 is built in South Carolina so American workers are taking home a paycheck from this one. Overall I am very pleased with the FNP45.
The FNPs are a really good feeling pistol. I've got to shoot the 9mm and I have the Browning Pro 40 which is the same gun with another name on it. Both are great shooters. I hope to get the 45 some day. I didn't think I'd ever want another poly frame pistol but they are just nice feeling and great shooting guns.

Well I haven't shot it but I have handled it a few times. The only thing I didn't like was the slide release lever is REAL small....small to the point of it being very difficult to release the slide using only the lever. Frankly, this is very minor since there are other, more preferred ways to get the slide to release. Still, I did ask myself why they put it there in the first place... :)Quote:

The recommended way from FN to release the slide is to pull back on the slide and let er rip.
Oh..I'll add I'm 5'9" and left handed too..heh
The FNP has a fantastic feel to it. It's the only poly frame gun I've ever wanted since my exodus from Glock years ago.
