I already have a CZ p01...love it. I was looking for another gun to add to the collection. Its mainly for home defense/target. I was looking at the XD by Springfield, the Sig 229 or 226, and the HK USPc. Im not a big Glock or SW fan. I love the feel of the CZ and what it has to offer. Most of these guns that want to buy are not available at the range here in California..so I have to go by feedback and researched homework.. any suggestions people?

Both the 229 and 226 Sig are great guns. I bought a new P250 in April. I bought the compact in 9mm. You can change the gun to .45acp, .357 sig or 40S&W with a different barrel and slide assembly so it is very versatile. It is a DA so it takes a bit of getting use to, but i love it. Go check out the Sigs, i think you will find one you like. The XD is also a great gun, alot of guys on this forum have them and rave about them. I am not a Glock fan either. I carried one as a duty gun only because it was required by my department. Can't say alot of bad things about it, it just was not for me. Good Luck with whatever choice you make.:smt023
i would go with the XD in .40 or 45acp
i would go with the glock19 for 9mm
My local range rents similar types of guns. I'd recommend an Hk P2000, Kimber 1911A1 and the Sigs.
But you might want to look at a Stoeger Cougar 8000 in 9x19mm. If you stay within your caliber choice at this point you are still shooting affordable ammunition and can pick up a Cougar for under $349.00 if you look around. They shoot extremely well and the only caveat would be if the grip is too large or does not fit you well. Otherwise you might want to look at that as a second choice.

Ive got to say I love my XD45 compact.... 3000 rds or so without a hitch.
I choose it because I have the option of either using the flush/short magazine for CCW, or I can use the hi cap/ext grip magazine for range or bedstand use.
The ext grip mags make it feel just like the service guns grip, so to me its like having 2 guns in one, I love the versatility. :smt023

As for a 2nd gun, I was in your exact position once myself. I had a Beretta semi-auto and wanted a second gun. I went with a revolver, the S&W 686 Plus (.38/.357). It was a great choice for me. Revolvers are way fun to shoot, they're even fun to load and unload. They don't have to be torn down every time you clean it. And it adds variety to both your range sessions and growing collection. I know semi-autos seem to have more sex appeal especially in today's "tactical" world. But a quality revolver has a "coolness" factor of it's own that, once you own one, you will understand.
