My eye doctor has told me I have astigmatism, i am wondering if anyone else has this condition and if so, what type of sighting techniques are best for it ? I get alot of eyestrain if I try to shoot with one eye, so I have never shot this way. even a few years ago when i did paintball for a bit. I like to keep both eyes open.
also, I am looking for a website or photos of what a proper shooting stance looks like, as well as hand placement. I have a glock 26 9mm
I have astigmatism, which is normally fully correctable with prescription lenses. Both eyes open is always the best policy, astigmatism or not, if you can do it.
i think with practice I will get it. it seems like if my front and rear sites were different colors it might make it easier.
mike, I found a guy that does classes, his name is Angelo Appi. he is willing to give me 3 hours of instruction with range time for what seems like a fair price to me. I am also looking into defense assosciates inc, in ct, I'll ask on the CT forum also.

I can't comment on Mr. Appi, since I've not even heard of him. I have fairly extensive personal experience with Defense Associates, and recommend them very highly.
I as do a million or so others have an astigmatism. I am also blind in one eye and can't see with the other. Whether it has anything to do with my sight preference or not I do not know. I prefer all flat black rear sight with red or redish orange front. As I ripened (aged) fibre optic sights have become my preference for the front. Red is still prefered. I am to much of a tight wad to spring for night sights and seriously doubt I will ever need them anyway. I am finding that my eyes are taking more and more time as I age to refocus during multiple shot/target situations. Any of you other old ones having that problem?

I have it in my right eye. Never been a problem. Im 20/15 with my glasses.
