I went on Saturday. It was a nice little show. I got some .357 ammunition for the gun I just bought for about $10 a box. Way better than the 15-18 a box I usually see.
Some guy downstairs has a nice paper cartridge Sharps rifle I drooled over a bit. It was marked at only $700-something, too!
It's happening again this weekend, August 9-10.
I'll be there.
I might go on the 10th.

I am a bit surprised that they allow Gun Shows in Cali. What sort of onerous restrictions do they place on participants? :smt076
Ammo should become very cheap as you near the date for new Ammo ID rules to take effect.
Enjoy while you can.

Glockamania, thanks for the heads-up on this weekend's show. I've got a buddy up in Burbank who I'm sure will be interested.
They do sell firearms at the gun shows in California, TOF, but since I haven't seen any particularly attractive prices, I've not investigated exactly what it all entails. My understanding is there is no "gunshow loophole" out here, meaning you still have the 10 day waiting period before you can take delivery of a firearm. This pretty much puts the brakes on buying a gun since the show is gone by the time the wait is up. I have seen guys walking out of the shows with rifles but I don't know what the deal is.
I've not found particularly attractive prices on ammo either though my ears perked up when I saw PanaP mention $10 for a box of .357's. I've never seen anything priced this good, I'll have to pay closer attention next time. I've not even found 9mm as cheap as WWB at Walmart.
I go pretty much just to walk around and check out the accessories. I find the knives, optics, gear, supplies etc. of more interest than the poor selection of overpriced firearms at the typical Southern California gun show. I also enjoy the people watching, particularly the cute elderly couples dressed in their cowboy duds, and the obligatory mall ninjas that stand out like a sore thumb in their camo.
What have you heard about the change in ammo laws in California? I only know that some changes were under consideration, not that any have passed that will absolutely go into effect.
Nothing has been passed YET, regarding certain ammo restrictions.
Gun show do happen. Specifically, this one in Glendale the local anti-gun folks tried their very best to ban or eliminate the show...but failed.
So this show is very important to us folks.
I'll end up being there both days since I live close by. I was close to buying a second generation Glock, but passed and ended up with a new one. Yes, the waiting period/background check still applies. But it's a hassle to have to pick it up at the vendor's gun shop.
I usually pick up accessories, ammo and window shop.
Please spread the word.
I went yesterday to the Glendale Show..lame!
Looked like a really bad flea market...with guns
