How many own a .40cal and 9mm pistol and keep them and their ammo in close proximity?

I do and their magazines will interchange.
Is there a problem with that?
I also have a .357 in reasonably close proximity.
Should the need arise I plan on determining which is most effective. :numbchuck:

I do
I have a hard time mixing up my 45ACP and my 9mm ammo... Go figure.
When I'm home, I have both. Worried about mixing up ammo? No worries, I once got a 9mm in a box of WWB .40s. They're pretty easy to tell apart. ;-)
Where do these stories get started, I wonder?
A. There's no way a .40 round will come close to chambering in a 9mm pistol, so no danger there.
B. If you chamber a 9mm in a .40 pistol (not recommended!), the only thing that is likely to happen is lousy functioning, and you'll know right away something is amiss.
From an article by the ever-cautious Mas Ayoob: Michael Bane, who does the popular “Downrange” and “Shooting Gallery” shows on television, tells of a competitor in action shooting who accidentally put a magazine of 9mm Luger ammunition in her .40 S&W caliber Glock 35 competition pistol. The gun jammed at every shot, and she had to cycle the slide before every next shot. The same thing was happening—the bullets were trundling down the barrel sideways, and there wasn’t enough power to run the action.
This hardly seems like justification for not even owning pistols in both calibers. If you want a .40, get a .40.
If I remember correctly it something like 9mm being lodged in
barrel and firing a 40 behind it.
I am going to do some thinking on it and prob buy soon.
Thanks for the info and help.
Just look at a magazine before you put it in a gun. Simple.
I'd get a new .40 and a new FFL.
i have a 9 and 40 in my bedroom along w/ammo no problem.:smt102

Do I have a 40 or a 9?
